THE ETHNIC DAY CELEBRATION – 23rd MARCH 2024

 


The ETHNIC DAY celebration at Coorg Institute of Dental Sciences was a vibrant and culturally enriching event, marked by a plethora of festivities and competitive activities. The day commenced with the melodious rhythms of the Chendamelam, setting the tone for a joyous celebration. Richa Mendalin captivated the audience with her heartfelt solo performance, infusing the event with musical grace and elegance. Individuals from a range of departments, such as CONSERVATIVE forming the first team, followed by ORAL MEDICINE, PEDODONTICS, ORAL PATHOLOGY, and OFFICE STAFF comprising the second team. The third team consisted of representatives from SURGERY, PUBLIC HEALTH, and PERIODONTICS, while the fourth and fifth teams showcased PROSTHODONTICS and ORTHODONTICS respectively. Together, they graced the runway, showcasing their distinctive styles and creative prowess, captivating the audience with a mesmerizing visual spectacle.

The photography contest beautifully encapsulated the essence of the day, immortalizing the spirit of the celebration through the lens. A burst of energy filled the atmosphere as participants surprised everyone with a dynamic flash mob, showcasing unity and spreading enthusiasm throughout the gathering. The competitive fervour reached its peak during the tug of war competition, culminating in victory for the team comprising teaching and non-teaching staff members. Recognition was bestowed upon the best-dressed individuals, winners of the photography contest, tug of war, and fashion show, appreciating their remarkable talent and dedication. The day concluded on a high note with another enchanting performance of the Chendamelam, leaving lasting memories of joy and camaraderie among all attendees.

The winners of the ETHNIC DAY celebration showcased exceptional talent and dedication across various categories. The Fashion Show saw triumph for the Team of Departments - ORAL MEDICINE, PEDODONTICS, ORAL PATHOLOGY & OFFICE STAFF, who impressed with their creativity and style on the runway. Sangeetha Vasudevan emerged as the standout talent in the Photography Contest, capturing the essence of the day through her lens. In the Tug of War competition, the Team of Teaching and Non-Teaching Staffs demonstrated unparalleled teamwork and determination, emerging as champions.

Additionally, accolades were bestowed upon the Best Dressed Awardees, with Liana Sibi and Mitesh M K winning in the UG category, Jegathish Kumaran and Pooja Sharma in the PG category, Dr. Gaurav and Dr. Shanthala from the teaching staff, as well as Bheemaiah, Pemmaiah, Shubha, and Geetha from the non-teaching staff. These individuals exemplified style, skill, and unity, contributing to the vibrant success of the event and embodying the spirit of cultural appreciation and camaraderie. The ETHNIC DAY celebration served as a testament to the rich diversity and talents within our community, fostering a sense of unity and cultural appreciation among all participants.
