CDE PROGRAMME ON “FIRST STEP INTO DIGITAL DENTISTRY” – 19TH & 20TH JUNE 2025

A two-day Continuing Dental Education (CDE) programme titled “First Step into Digital Dentistry” was organized at Coorg Institute of Dental Sciences on 19th and 20th June 2025. The event featured renowned resource persons, Dr. Dhrumil Manek and Dr. Medha Sharma from VMS Dental College, Salem, who delivered engaging and informative sessions focused on modern digital workflows in dentistry.

The programme commenced with an overview of digital dentistry, setting the stage for more advanced topics. Participants were treated to live demonstrations and hands-on training using Exocad and Exoplan software. Key topics covered included:

Single and three-unit coping and crown design

Digital smile design

Virtual implant planning

Surgical guide design

3D printing workflows

Attendees included faculty from the departments of Prosthodontics, Conservative Dentistry, Periodontics, and Oral Medicine & Radiology, as well as postgraduate students and interns. The hands-on sessions provided valuable practical exposure, greatly enriching the learning experience and bridging the gap between theory and clinical application.

The event served as an excellent platform for dental professionals to gain foundational knowledge and experience in the rapidly advancing field of digital dentistry.
