Dr.Veena S Narayanan Professor and Head, Department of Oral Medicine and Radiology had visited the Tsurumi University, School of Dental Medicine, Yokohama during the period from April 2nd 2018 to April 14th 2018. She got to interact with Kaoru Kobayashi in his Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology and Diagnosis. She also had chances to relate her specialty to three additional specialties by visiting and discussing research-wise with Prof. Kazuhito Satomura of Department of Oral Medicine and Stomatology, Prof. Yasuo Yamakoshi of Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, and Prof. Ichiro Saito of Department of Pathology

Student Exchange Program-2017
Post graduate students Drs. Yeshoda, Abinayashree and Deepthi T.R have attended Postgraduate Training Course at Tsurumi University, Japan during the period from February 6th to February 17th 2017. They participated in observations and discussions in the Department of Oral Medicine Maxillofacial Radiology and Diagnosis and Department of Pathology. They had visited the Department of Oral Medicine, Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology and Diagnosis and Department of Pathology and Stomatology. At the Maxillofacial Radiology Department they were trained in the CBCT of Maxillofacial region with more emphasis on Interpretations. In the Department of Oral Medicine they got to observe and discuss exclusive oral carcinoma cases diagnosis and the management. In the Somatology Department they got exposed to the recent advances in the field of Salivomics. During their extra-curricular hours they got to know more about the Japanese culture and they also underwent sessions in Zen Zen Meditation. They also got to experience wearing the traditional Japanese attire Hakimono. They also had the taste of traditional Japanese cuisine. They also visited the GC head office and they learnt about the Orthopantograph machines, Cone Beam Computed Tomography machine and Research and Design of various dental materials manufactured by GC Company.
